"Not Fade Away"

The Dome appears prominently in David Chase's "Not Fade Away" (Paramount Vantage, 2012) as we look west on Sunset in the 60s for a scene that concludes the film. On the end of the marquee is the Cinerama logo and the title "Mediterranean," presumably an homage to the 70mm film "Mediterranean Holiday" that played at the Warner Cinerama on Hollywood Blvd. for 11 weeks in 1965.

Here John Magaro is crossing the street. He's recently arrived in L.A. and has been to a party in Hollywood. The film also features Bella Heathcote, Meg Guzulescu, Will Brill, Jack Huston, Molly Price, Dominique McElligott and James Gandolfini. The cinematography was by Eigil Bryld.

After John crosses the street Meg, playing his younger sister, steps into the frame. She's been narrating the film and tells us that the 20th century created two tremendous forces: nuclear energy and rock and roll.

Meg begins to dance in the middle of Sunset.

A last shot from the scene.
