"The Fanatic"

John Travolta plays Moose, a fan with a few behavioral issues, who gets carried away when his favorite star won't give him an autograph in "The Fanatic" (Quiver Distribution, 2019). The film, directed by Fred Durst, also stars Ana Golja as a friend who tries to help and Devon Sawa as the star who gets into big trouble by not being a good celebrity. Conrad Hall was the cinematographer.

The film is, of course, set in Hollywood and looks it. Although we get many shots of the El Capitan, a few of the Chinese, and one view of the Egyptian, most of the film was shot in Birmingham Alabama. In this shot we're looking west with the vertical and rooftop sign of the El Capitan visible down the street.

A couple of sidewalk entertainers arguing with some of the Chinese Theatre signage in the background.

Moose's character playing a British bobby telling one of the young punks he doesn't want to scam the tourists.

A look west at dusk with signage visible for the El Capitan, the Chinese and the Dolby.

See the pages on Grauman's Chinese, the El Capitan, the Dolby Theatre and the Egyptian on the Los Angeles Theatres site for histories of the buildings and many photos.
