"Too Late For Tears"

Lizabeth Scott and Arthur Kennedy are out driving when a suitcase of money mistakenly gets thrown into their car near the beginning of "Too Late For Tears" (United Artists, 1949). On their way home, while trying to figure out what to do with the money, they do a quick drive-by of Grauman's Chinese.

It's Dan Duryea's money and he comes looking for it.  The film, directed by Byron Haskin, is also known as "Killer Bait." Christine Miller plays Arthur Kennedy's sister. And Don DeFore plays a long-lost friend of Kennedy's who shows up and helps to unravel some of the mysteries.
