Steve Basilone, playing a struggling writer, heads to the movies at the Hayworth Theatre on Wilshire Blvd. in "Long Weekend" (Sony/Stage 6 Films, 2021). Basilone also wrote and directed. The cinematography is by Felipe Vara de Rey.

Settling in to listen to a phone message from his doctor, watch a movie, and do some heavy drinking. He's brought a bottle.
He's asleep as the lights come up.
Usher Jess Jacobs wakes him up.
Time to go. He admits he was drinking a bit. She catches up with him on the street and suggests they find a bar to drink together. As the ad copy says: "They found each other just in time."
The theatre is at 2511 Wilshire Blvd., just west of MacArthur Park. It was built as a legit venue, had a long run as a repertory film house called the Vagabond, and then became a legit house named the Hayworth. It's now a comedy club.
