"The Visitants"

The Fairfax Theatre, 7907 Beverly Blvd., is seen about 61 minutes into Rick Sloane's low budget film "The Visitants" (Vinegar Syndrome, 1986). It's a tale of three teenagers and a teacher trying to warn their town of an alien invasion. The film features Marcus Vaughter, Jordana Capra and Joel Hile. It's Halloween and the Fairfax is running a 3D midnight show of "It Came From Outer Space."

The staff is giving out free passes to those with convincing disguises as aliens but they're hard to please.

Two of our leads are actually running from aliens but they decide not to hide in the theatre. The ticket lobby was getting renovated by Cineplex Odeon at the time of the shoot.

See the page about the Fairfax on the Los Angeles Theatres site for more about this 1930 vintage deco-style house.

The film can be viewed free on the site Tubi. The Fairfax is also seen in Rick Sloane's 1984 film "Blood Theatre." The two movies are available as a Blu-ray double feature from Vinegar Syndrome.
