In addition to views of Tail o' the Pup and Fatburger we get quick shots of the Gilmore Drive-In, 6201 W. 3rd St., when Woody Allen's character Alvy Singer visits Los Angeles in "Annie Hall" (United Artists, 1977).
The film stars Diane Keaton, Tony Roberts, Carol Kane, Shelley Duvall, Paul Simon, Colleen Dewhurst, Janet Margolin and Christopher Walken. The cinematography was by Gordon Willis.
Thanks to Eric Schaefer for spotting the theatre in the movie and getting the screenshots. He comments:
"If this isn't common knowledge, 'House of Exorcism' was Mario Bava's overhauled version of his 'Lisa and the Devil.' What a great drive-in double feature!"
See the page about the Gilmore Drive-In on the Los Angeles Theatres site for a history of the theatre.
On IMDb: "Annie Hall"
There was also a scene in Annie Hall on the outside patio of The Source Restaurant where he orders a plate of "alfalfa sprouts and mashed yeast', but also a really funny scene shot in the parking lot of The Source when he tears up his drivers license when a policeman arrives on the scene.
