"Madhouse"

John Laroquette and Kirstie Alley are the glum couple in the middle who have to entertain uninvited houseguests Jessica Lundy and John Diehl in "Madhouse" (Orion, 1990). Of course we pay a visit to Grauman's Chinese. Diehl getting his pocket picked while at the theatre is just the beginning of the troubles.

The film also features Alison La Placa, Richard Alexander, Robert Ginty, Deborah Otto, Bradley Gregg and Dennis Miller. Tom Ropelewski directed. The cinematography was by Dennis C. Lewiston.

Laroquette back at the Chinese later in the film. He and his wife are stuck with a bedridden Jessica Lundy after Diehl has skipped town. Yes, then other "guests" take over and proceed to destroy the couple's house.

Thanks to Eric Schaefer for spotting the theatre in the film and getting this screenshot. The top two are views that appear on IMDb.

See the Grauman's Chinese pages on the Los Angeles Theatres site for a history of this 1927 vintage movie palace and hundreds of photos.
