There's some nice footage taken from the Hollywood Hills behind the credits for "The Yellow Canary" (20th Century Fox, 1963). Searchlights are in action, evidently for a premiere at Grauman's Chinese. They're also playing across the front of the Paramount Theatre across the street.
Our action then shifts to Vine St. where an ill-mannered singer played by Pat Boone is opening an engagement at the Huntington Hartford Theatre, 1615 Vine St. We get footage outside as well as scenes in the lobby, auditorium and backstage. In addition to the visit near the beginning of the film we're back again later for another performance when police are trying to capture the man who kidnapped Pat's baby.
Barbara Eden plays his wife and Jack Klugman is a cop trying to solve the case. Also featured are Steve Forrest, Jesse White, Jeff Corey, Milton Seltzer, Vici Raaf and Harold Gould. The black and white CinemaScope photography was by Floyd Crosby. Whit Masterson and Rod Serling were the writers. Buzz Kulik directed.
See the page about the Huntington Hartford/Montalban Theatre on the Los Angeles Theatres site.
