As a joke, small-town hairdresser Zoey Deutch gives her boyfriend, played by Michael Cassidy, a "celebrity sex pass" in "Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass" (Sony Pictures Classics, 2026). They're getting married soon but, of course, if you have the opportunity to have sex with your favorite celebrity, that's OK. Well, he does use his pass when Jennifer Anniston comes to their town on a book promotion tour.
We see a bit of the Chinese when Zoey and her fellow hairdresser Miles Guttierez-Riley go to Hollywood for a convention. We also get a couple shots looking toward the Pantages. She decides to use her "pass" and they try to find her choice: Jon Hamm.
Meanwhile, some bad guys (and a very bad lady) are tracking them. Seems there's been a mixup at the airport between Zoey's case filled with hairbrushes and one with documents needed to destroy the world's financial infrastructure. When an image of the Chinese Theatre shows up on their computer's tracking program, one of the bumbling thugs doesn't recognize it and thinks it'll be difficult to find. "Looks Asian," he says.
The film also features John Slattery, Ken Marino, Mather Zickel, Joe Lo Truglio, Ben Wang, Sabrina Impacciatore, Fred Melamid, Matthew Jason Cwern and, of course, Jon Hamm. David Wain directed. The cinematography was by Kevin Atkinson.
