"Hollywood Homicide"

We get a nice view of the towers atop the Hollywood Pacific (the former Warner Hollywood) at 6433 Hollywood Blvd. in Ron Shelton's "Hollywood Homicide" (Sony Pictures, 2003).

The film stars Harrison Ford as a cop with a side gig as a real estate agent that isn't going well. Lena Olin plays Harrison's girlfriend whose earlier boyfriend is played by Bruce Greenwood, now with Internal Affairs. Josh Hartnett is Harrison's partner, also a yoga teacher. He thinks he really wants to be an actor. They're investigating the night club shooting of members of a rap group. Gladys Knight, Martin Landau and Smokey Robinson also show up. The cinematography is by Barry Peterson.

A news helicopter look across the roof of the Hollywood Roosevelt toward Grauman's Chinese. The big crowd on the street will scatter when gunfire erupts.

Everybody is there for a footprint ceremony for Robert Wagner that's emceed by Johnny Grant. The concrete will get splattered on the two guys as the chase of an evil music mogul goes through the forecourt.

The chase is on with Harrison on a bicycle in front of the Hollywood Theatre, just east of Highland Ave. It's now a Guinness Book of Records museum.

The music mogul played by Isaiah Washington pops up from the the Hollywood and Vine Metro station giving us a view of the Pantages Theatre, 6233 Hollywood Blvd.

The chase continues up the former Broadway department store building on the southwest corner of Hollywood and Vine. From a news copter covering the action we get this great side view of the Music Box/Fonda Theatre at 6126 Hollywood Blvd. Farther to the left one can see the top of the Pantages vertical in the shadows.

For more about these theatres see the pages about the Warner Hollywood, Grauman's Chinese, the Hollywood Theatre, the Pantages and the Music Box/Fonda Theatre on the Los Angeles Theatres site.
