"Worth Winning"

Mark Harmon is at a theatre with his date Maria Holvoe in "Worth Winning" (20th Century Fox, 1989). He has a reputation as a ladies man of unlimited ability. His friends have challenged him with a bet stipulating that he has to make three different women fall in love with him and accept his proposal of marriage. Maria was woman #1 that they picked for him.

A shot from across the street reveals that we're at the Warner Grand in San Pedro and they're headed in with lots of kids for a matinee of "Snow White."

Up in the balcony with Maria.

The happy couple as the lights come up.

At the movies again as part of his seduction of Madeline Stowe. Yes, we're back at the Warner.

He likes the balcony. He's offering some popcorn to a kid in front as Madeline steals a couple Red Vines.

Mark and Madeline out front after the date. She falls for him.

Woman #3 that his friends have picked is checking out a "Death of a Scoundrel" poster.

Why, it's Lesley Ann Warren. And we're back at the Warner for a third time.

Heading in with Lesley. As you can see by the kids on the left, it'll be "Snow White" again.

Up in the balcony again. She too falls for him. But the ladies later figure out what's up.

Also featured are Mark Blum, Andrea Martin, Tony Longo, Alan Blumenfeld and David Brenner. Will Mackenzie directed. The film was written by Dan Lewandowski, Josann McGibbon and Sara Parriott. Adam Greenberg was the director of photography.

See the pages about the Warner Grand on the Los Angeles Theatres site for a history of the building and many photos. It's currently doing well as a performing arts center owned by the City of Los Angeles.
