"The People vs. Larry Flynt"

Outside the Chinese in "The People vs. Larry Flynt" (Columbia Pictures, 1996). Woody Harrelson plays Flynt. Beset with ongoing legal troubles and harassment he says "I want to move somewhere where perverts are welcome." We cut to an aerial view swirling around the Griffith Observatory, a view of the Hollywood sign, and then this shot on Hollywood Blvd.

Matt Lambro commented:

"I saw 'The People vs. Larry Flynt' at the Galaxy - there was an establishing shot of Hollywood in the movie and the theater erupted in applause. It was amusing."

The film was written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. Milos Forman directed. The cinematography was by Philippe Rousselot. Also featured in the cast are Courtney Love, Edward Norton, Brett Harrelson, Crispin Glover, Donna Hanover, James Cromwell, Vincent Schiavelli and James Carville.

See the pages about Grauman's Chinese on the Los Angeles theatres website for more information about this 1927 vintage theatre.
