"Inland Empire"

In David Lynch's "Inland Empire" (Studio Canal, 2006) Laura Dern has all sorts of unfathomable adventures including a big scene about a half hour from the end that was shot on Hollywood Blvd. near Vine St. Her character gets stabbed and in this shot the assailant is running east toward the Vine Theatre. The tail end of Laura's prolonged death scene was shot on a soundstage, as Lynch reveals when he pulls back and shows the camera shooting it.

See the Vine Theatre page on the Los Angeles Theatres site for a history of the building and many photos. The theatre is located at 6321 Hollywood Blvd.

Laura exits the soundstage after the shoot for the Hollywood Blvd. scene is and the next thing we know instead of being outdoors she's looking around a marble column. This scene was shot at the Orpheum Theatre, 842 S. Broadway.
