"Trapped"

Lloyd Bridges goes into the office building at 6912 Hollywood Blvd. in Richard Fleischer's counterfeiting tale "Trapped" (Eagle-Lion, 1949). Down the block is a murky view of the marquee of the El Capitan Theatre, then called the Paramount. Bridges is just out of jail after taking the fall for a botched job and he's discovered that the guy who ended up with his lovely printing plates has an office there.

Later in the film two of the bad guys come out of the building and hop in the car that's right behind the pedestrian. Across the street it's Grauman's Chinese at 6925 Hollywood Blvd.

The cops are in a dark car across the street so they take a U-turn to follow east on Hollywood Blvd.

A few blocks down the street we get a view of the Holly Theatre at 6523 Hollywood Blvd., at the time called the Hollywood Music Hall.

The film also stars Barbara Payton and John Holt. A real treat is the finale (including an electrocution) at the Los Angeles Railway's streetcar barns at 7th and Central.

See the Los Angeles Theatres pages about the El Capitan, Grauman's Chinese and the Holly Theatre for more about the buildings.
