We get a pan from the top down to the street at the General Cinema Galaxy 6, 7021 Hollywood Blvd., in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (20th Century Fox, 1992). Written by Joss Whedon and directed by Fran Rubel Kuzui, the film stars Kristy Swanson, Donald Sutherland, Paul Reubens, Rutger Hauer, Luke Perry, David Arquette and Hilary Swank. The cinematography was by James Hayman.
An escalator view.
Future vampire slayer Kristy Swanson and her friend Hilary Swank getting out of a show.
Looking east on Hollywood Blvd.
The boyfriends show up and the pan gives a look at the El Capitan, 6838 Hollywood Blvd.
A view west with Like Perry and a bit of the Galaxy signage.
See the pages about the Galaxy 6 and the El Capitan Theatre on the Los Angeles Theatres website for more about these Hollywood venues.
Kristy doesn't yet know she's the chosen one but she's starting to have strange dreams, especially if she puts on a red hair ribbon. In this one she finds herself with Rutger Hauer, a vampire who has his live/work space at the Tower Theatre, 8th and Broadway.
Rutger descending from the heavens at the Tower. Note that nice lighting through the organ grilles.
Paul Reubens and a victim down on the Tower's stage.
Conference time. Rutger can't believe that the killer of vampires is someone named Buffy.
Another shot with Rutger and Paul at the vampire's lair.
A look over toward the side wall of the Tower.
See the pages about the Tower Theatre on the Los Angeles Theatres site for a history of this 1927 vintage house designed by S. Charles Lee. Sad to say it's now an Apple store.
