Dennis Dugan's film "You Don't Mess With the Zohan" (Sony Pictures, 2008) is set in New York. But when we go to the big Hacky Sack competition they use the exterior of the
Palace Theatre, 630 S. Broadway.
The film features Adam Sandler, John Turturro, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Nick Swardson, Lainie Kazan, Dina Doron, Shelley Berman, Chris Rock and Mariah Carey. The cinematography was by Michael Barrett.
A fine marquee shot. The interior scenes for the venue were done elsewhere. That Walbridge guy is the evil developer who is trying to cultivate dissent among various immigrant groups so he can knock down a few buildings and build his shopping mall.
